One Hour a Week Makes a Lifetime of Difference

Spending one hour a week reading with a child leads to growth you can see. Reading Pals don’t just learn to read confidently; they gain self-confidence that can radically shape their future and disrupt generational cycles of poverty and incarceration.

Weekly Investment

Committed volunteers are paired with their student(s) for weekly reading sessions. Sessions are just 30 minutes and last for a semester or year.

Simple & Supported

Follow a simple reading curriculum—no special skills required. Designated site coordinators pair you with your student(s) and provide support.

It’s Worth It

Consistent attention and support gives students confidence and helps them dramatically increase their reading skills and self esteem—transforming their lives for years to come.
